Dog-Proofer 3-Sided Dog Runs are an easy-to-set-up system to allow your dog safe but limited outdoor access. The 3-sided design allows for easy attachment to your house or other structure. This system is perfect to have in front of your dog door to let your dogs safely get outside anytime they need to but not access the entire yard.
This system does not need posts into the ground for support! It utilizes a Free-Standing Framework to sit on top of your patio or ground. The system comes in two footprints, 8’ x 8’ and 8’ x 16’ and is intended to use your house as one of the sides. We offer the system in 42”H and 64”H.
Our 3-sided dog runs utilize 1 ⅜” galvanized and black powder-coated steel tubing and black powder-coated welded steel fittings to form the framework. An advantage of this type of construction over panel dog runs is that the lengths of the sides can be customized by cutting down the tubing (link to tube cutter). The height can even be customized if needed.
The strong steel framework is covered in a high-grade galvanized and black powder-coated 1.7” x 1.7” square steel grid. Heavy-duty UV-rated ties and a tie tool are used to secure the fence grid to the post framework and straps are used to allow you to secure the frame to your building.
The system is intended to be set up on a hard surface such as a deck or patio and ideally it is set up on a relatively level ground.
If the system is set up on dirt or grass. We offer an add-on kit that adds a “dig-proofing barrier” to the bottom of the system. This is an additional layer of galvanized and black-coated steel mesh which is attached to the bottom of the dog run and then secured into the ground with kinked ground stakes. This creates an “L” shaped barrier of metal at the base of the dog run so dog(s) are not able to dig under the system.
